1. Demonstrate keyboarding speed and accuracy on straight copy with a goal of 33 words a minute for 5 minutes with 5 or fewer errors.

2. Format letters using at least two styles with acceptable margins, spacing, and notations.

3. Format reports using at least two types with acceptable formatting for text and tables.

4. Format tables with acceptable spacing and margins.

5. Format outlines with acceptable spacing and margins.

6. Format enumerations with acceptable spacing and margins.

7. Format memorandums with acceptable spacing and margins.

8. Compose responses to letters using acceptable formatting skills for letters.

9. Complete a job simulation which includes activities on cultural awareness.

10. Apply correct use of capitalizations, punctuation, spelling, and numbers in written communication.

11. Demonstrate competency in utilizing the features of word processing in ClarisWorks.

12. Demonstrate competency in utilizing the features of data base in ClarisWorks.

1. Demonstrate competency in desktop publishing utilizing the features of PageMaker, the scanner, clip art, and the digital camera.

2. Demonstrate competency in utilizing the features of Microsoft PowerPoint to create multimedia presentations.

3. Demonstrate competency in utilizing the features of Claris Home Page to create World Wide Web pages.

1. Demonstrate the ability to solve common business problems on an electronic calculators with an entry-level competency using the ten-key touch method.

2. Demonstrate the ability to file information/correspondence using alphabetic, geographic, and numeric filing rules.

3. Match vocabulary of business terms to correct definition.

4. Identify activities, problems, and decisions involved in operating a business successfully.

5. Recognize career opportunities in the business world.

6. Recognize the importance of business and management in a global economy.

7. Identify facts, principles, and concepts that will aid them in becoming effective members of the business community.

6. Recognize that a knowledge of English usage helps each learner to communicate more efficiently and effectively both orally and in written form, and prepares each learner for a successful entrance into other educational endeavors and the world of work.
