NARRATIVE REPORT ON CAPACITY ASSESSMENT

Our committee determined our strengths to be in the following: The School Improvement Plan; the Information System; and the area of Vision, Leadership-Governance, and School Community. These areas reflect a commitment to a continuous improvement process in which data has been collected, analyzed, and disseminated. Our committee has been guided by our Mission Statement and has implemented planning with input from stakeholders to benefit ALL students in Laurel-Concord Public Schools.

Areas the Instruction Committee identified to focus on in the future are the following: Process of Schooling and Resources and Allocations. While some faculty members do engage in research, time restraints were targeted as the reasons why the majority did not. In addition, although the school district is committed to providing quality education, sufficient resources are not seen as being available to fully implement specific interventions from the School Improvement Process.
