Instruction-Assessment Committee
Meeting Minutes
January 3, 2006

The Instruction-Assessment Committee met on January 3, 2006.  Members present were:  Paul Timm, Mark Bathke, Ed Brogie, Jill Hoesing, Les Owen, Carol Manganaro, Sue Stingley, Arlys Monson, Star Smith, Clayton Steele, Jim Clark, Patti Cunningham, Chuck Potosnyak, Mary Hansen, Melissa Haisch, Carol Clark, and Karla Pippitt.  The committee reviewed their school improvement plan from the website in the areas of APL, CLPS and online assessment.  On December 8th, instructor David Perry led the APL workshop for all staff.  The online lesson plans are being implemented K-12, but there seems to be some confusion as to how the plans are saved to the server.  Carol Manganaro will investigate and report on the “sync” process.  The on-line assessment training continues and actual testing is anticipated to begin during the third quarter.  Two curriculum specialists have been contacted and consented to serve on the external visitation team.  Their names have been submitted to the administration for the April visitation.   The subcommittee split into small groups to read and discuss a portion of the booklet “Walk awhile in my shoes” by Harvey and Ventura.  Small groups will continue to  meet regularly.
