Steering Committee Minutes

Dr. Hoesing reported that the External Team Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006. An agenda for the visit was discussed and finalized. There will be a coffee at 7:45 a.m. with staff to begin the morning.

A discussion of the role of the Steering Committee members in the School Improvement Process followed. Members felt that they need to be the “go to” group for the rest of the staff for issues and concerns, and reported that they have seen this beginning to happen with the work done in the book groups.

The Steering Committee Action Plan on the school web site was reviewed and updated. Flexibility in the plan is needed in order to be responsive to areas of concern which may show up in assessment data.The Steering Committee will develop and conduct a climate survey.

Deadlines for updating the school web site were summarized. It was reported that the ILCD/Wellness Committee plan has been reviewed/updated, and the Instruction/Curriculum Committee plan is in the process of being completed. In addition, all assessment data will be entered on the web site before tomorrow.
