Steering Committee Minutes The Steering Committee met to make plans for the upcoming staff meeting. Members discussed the current crisis plan to identify needed changes and updates. The illness of a staff member had been handled this week by notes from the crisis team to staff. The feedback from the use of the process has been positive. The suggestion was made, however, to hand deliver the first note with a message on it to check mailboxes for updates. Discussion followed regarding School Improvement and analysis of the external report. Dr. Hoesing related the discussion to the Todd Whitaker presentation that we focus on the top group and bottom group which will pull the middle group up. At the 10/4/06 meeting of the full staff, it was decided that we would separate into 4-5 groups to discuss the core areas of Reading/Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Ed Brogie and Sharon Boeckenhauer were selected to help lead a discussion to help staff come to a consensus about one thing we could pick in each area to bring about improvement in student performance. This discussion can lead to strategies for areas of need in the School Improvement Process. Respectfully submitted, |
